This suggested curriculum includes degree requirements and courses that are usually completed in the first two years of a four-year curriculum. Consult with the university or college of your choice and its catalog curriculum as you make plans on where to transfer. Be careful to select the courses that will meet all requirements for both the associate and baccalaureate degree programs.
In addition to the general education requirements, English majors choose from electives focused on grammar, oral communications, creative writing, fiction writing, poetry writing, foreign languages, and world literature.

English and Creative Writing majors should work well under a deadline and manage their time effectively. Successful students can communicate across a broad range of medium; i.e., reports, articles, social media. English/Creative Writing majors also have strong critical thinking skills and can argue their point--probably the reason so many law students have undergraduate degrees in English. Students who major in English love words and have a broad vocabulary and strong grammar skills.
