2013 NORTHERN GIRLS’ BASKETBALL CAMP
June 9 - 14…..Grades 4 – 7
July 7 – 12………..Grades 8 – 12
**The grade for camp enrollment is for 2013-14**
The Lady Mavs Basketball Camp is designed to work on both individual and team skills. There is a focus on fundamental skills and abilities that we also incorporate into the team concept. Each girl is on a team which will play several games per day. Each day of camp includes mass drills, station drills, team drills, and competition including free throw, hot shot, 1-on-1, 2-on-2, and 3-on-3.
We conduct a morning, afternoon, and evening session. All sessions are the same for commuters and dorm residents. In addition to basketball, the college swimming pool is available to the campers for an afternoon and evening session. The college cafeteria serves three hot meals a day. And the campus is under 24 hour a day security. The coach to camper ratio is about one coach per eight campers, and most of the coaching staff resides and counsels in the dorm.
REGISTRATION:
Please make reservations in advance. The deposit or total amount must accompany reservations. Enrollment is limited based on available dorm space. We accept and confirm reservations as they are received. Final enrollment will be completed the first day of each session. Check-in and final enrollment is Sunday, the first day of camp, from 4:00-6:00 pm. The swimming pool is also open Sunday from 4-6 pm. The first basketball session is that same Sunday evening from 7:00-8:30 pm.
FACILITIES:
Air conditioned dorms house our campers. Two gyms are available, the main gym being air conditioned. A six lane, Olympic size indoor swimming pool is open for the campers’ use. Our college cafeteria provides meals.
T-SHIRTS:
Two t-shirts will be given to each camper with their name on the back. We require the girls to wear these shirts, or previous NOC camp shirts, to each session. Washers and dryers are available in the dorm, as well as laundry detergent.
WHAT TO BRING:
Towels and wash cloths, personal toilet articles, sheets and blanket for twin size bed, pillows, swimsuit, playing shorts, basketball shoes, athletic socks. Bring plenty of comfortable, casual clothes such as shorts and t-shirts.
CAMP BASKETBALLS:
Each girl completing camp will receive a regulation size camp ball.
CAMP REGULATIONS:
Campers will not be allowed off campus unless with an organized and supervised camp group. All visitors must secure permission through the camp director for off campus trips. Campers will be supervised by the camp staff at all times.
