Alma Figueroa NJCAA Women’s Soccer Player of the Week
Northern Oklahoma College athlete Alma Figueroa has been named the NJCAA Division 1 Women's Soccer Player of the Week.
The NJCAA made the announcement Sept. 16 for all matches played Sept. 7-13.
A sophomore forward from Kaufman, Texas, Figueroa had 2 goals and 2 assists in the NOC Lady Mavs’ 5-0 wins over Barton County (Kan.) Community College and Dodge City (Kan.) Community College.
“Alma’s technical skill, creativity and strength on the ball created multiple scoring chances and helped us have success against two quality opponents,” said Josh Smith, head women’s soccer coach.
“The girls have put up great numbers early in the season. We have great players at every position and a bench of players as good as those who start. It’s a great problem to have. To have this POTW honor added to our current national ranking of No. 11 is a great accomplishment for Alma and our team. Our hope is that we will continue to move forward and see success both individually and as a team.”
