Grant and Mora earn NOC player of the week honors
Mavericks soccer players of the week at Northern Oklahoma College Tonkawa are Hannah Grant, women, and Felix Mora, men.
Head Women’s Coach Josh Smith and Head Men’s Coach Michael DuRoy announced the selections for the week ending Sept. 20.
“Hannah assisted a goal to give us a 2-0 lead over Hutchinson 10 seconds before halftime.” Smith said. “She also scored the go-ahead goal against Pratt as she headed a cross into the back of the net. Hannah's ability to come into games and make an impact, combined with her strong work ethic, proved valuable in both wins this week.”
Grant is a freshman forward from Stillwater and a graduate of Stillwater High School.
“Felix played very well this week against Pratt,” DuRoy said.“He has changed positions and should be a big contributor going forward in the season.”
Mora is a freshman midfielder from Enid.
The women, ranked 11th nationally, are 6-1 to date, following a 4-0 victory over Hutchinson Community College and a 2-0 win over Pratt Community College.
The men’s record is 3-4-1 after defeating Hutchinson 4-0 and losing to Pratt 0-4.
The Mavericks’ next home game is against Eastern Oklahoma State College Sept. 26 with women playing at 2 p.m. and men playing at 4 p.m.
