Tolleson and Coombs earn NOC player of the week honors
Mavericks soccer players of the week at Northern Oklahoma College Tonkawa are BreAnn Tolleson, women, and Aaron Coombs, men.
Head Women’s Coach Josh Smith and Head Men’s Coach Michael DuRoy announced the selections for the week ending Sept. 27.
“This week BreAnn had 2 goals and 2 assists in our 4-1 win over NEO and 2 goals in our 5-0 win over Eastern,” Smith said. “BreAnn's work ethic, drive to excel and creativity make her a continual threat up top for us. She has started all 10 games for us and is ranked 6th nationally with 47 shots and 17th nationally with 10 goals.”
Tolleson is a freshman forward from The Colony, Texas and a graduate of The Colony High School.
“Akeem controlled the midfield in both games this week from his defensive midfield position,” DuRoy said. “He also scored the game-winning goal in overtime against Eastern Oklahoma State College.”
Coombs is a freshman midfielder from Kingston, Jamaica.
The women, ranked 10th nationally, are 9-1 overall and 2-0 in conference play, following the victories over Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College and Eastern.
