Pritchett and Ramos earn NOC player of the week honors
Mavericks soccer players of the week at Northern Oklahoma College Tonkawa are Morgan Pritchett, women, and Edgar Ramos, men.
Head Women’s Coach Josh Smith and Head Men’s Coach Michael DuRoy announced the selections for the week ending Oct. 4
“Morgan has stepped up in the midfield for us after bouncing back from injury,” Smith said.“Her work ethic and positive attitude have proven valuable assets to our program.Against Maple Woods, Morgan bolstered our midfield and led our first year players in the second half.In training, Morgan refuses to be outworked and always is looking to push herself and her teammates.”
Pritchett is a freshman defender from Bixby.
“Edgar has played every minute of the season so far. He was an important piece of the Mavs defense that gave up just two goals this week,” DuRoy said.
Ramos is a freshman center back from Lawton. This is his second player of the week selection for the season.
The women, ranked 10th nationally, are 10-1 overall and 2-0 in conference play, following a 14-1 victory over Maple Woods Community College.
The men’s record is 4-7-1 overall and 1-1 in conference play after 0-1 losses to Maple Woods and to East Central College.
Both teams play Murray State College at home Oct. 9 with women playing at 2 p.m. and men playing at 4 p.m.
