Northern Oklahoma College soccer players of the week are Thirley Rodriguez and Morgan Pritchett, women; and Roberto Molina, men.
According to Mavericks Head Women’s Coach Josh Smith, “Thirley and Morgan worked tirelessly in our midfield. Their energy and refusal to quit was irreplaceable. Morgan played all 90 minutes in the [Region II] championship game. Thirley linked our holding and attaching mids and won many balls back. Their tenacity and drive was key to our success!”
Rodriguez is a sophomore midfielder from Forney, Texas. Pritchett is a freshman defender from Bixby.
Head Men’s Soccer Coach Michael DuRoy stated, “Roberto played an amazing game in the Region II semifinal. He made several fantastic saves in shutting out NEO. He was selected to the Region II All-Tournament team for the second year in a row.”
Molina is a sophomore goalkeeper from Forney, Texas.
The Lady Mavs, currently 17-2-0, will play Navarro College in the NJCAA District Tournament Nov. 6.
The Mavs lost to Northeastern Oklahoma A& M College after double overtime in penalty kicks 4-1, ending their season with an overall record of 7-12-1
