NOC Tonkawa announces basketball players of the week

Darian HillCosta AndersonNorthern Oklahoma College Tonkawa basketball players of the week are Darian Hill, women, and Costa Anderson, men.
Greg Krause, head women’s coach for the Lady Mavs, and Donnie Jackson, head men’s coach for the Mavericks, announced the selections for the week ending Nov. 8.
“The team is 4-1,” Krause said. “For those games Darian has averaged 15.8 points per game, 4 assists per game and 2.2 steals per game.
“Darian is playing a key role for us as a scorer, point guard and team leader on the floor. She’s been producing very well for us offensively and defensively.”
Hill is a 5’7” sophomore from Newalla and a graduate of Harrah High School.
“In two games this past weekend in wins over Labette and Bethel JV, Costa scored 39 points and connected on 15 out of 25, shooting from the field, including 8 out of 13 3-pointers,” Jackson stated.
“Costa is a great young man who works hard on his game and academics. He is one of the team leaders and leads by example on and off the court.”
Anderson is a 6’2” sophomore guard from Atlanta, Ga. and a graduate of South Atlanta High School.
The men are 5-0 for the season. The next home game is against Cowley County Community College November 10th in Foster-Piper Fieldhouse. Women play at 5:30 p.m. and men play at 7:30 p.m.
