NOC Tonkawa announces basketball players of the week
Northern Oklahoma College Tonkawa basketball players of the week are Darian Hill, women, and Costa Anderson, men.
Greg Krause, head women’s coach for the Lady Mavs, and Donnie Jackson, head men’s coach for the Mavericks, announced the selections for the week ending Jan. 17
“Last week Darian averaged 18.7 points per game, 3.7 assists per game and 3.7 rebounds per game,” Krause said.
“Darian has returned this semester playing very well. She’s giving us outstanding production and playing a lot of minutes by staying out of foul trouble.”
Hill is a 5’7” sophomore from Newalla and a graduate of Harrah High School. This is her third Player of the Week nomination for the season.
“In three games last week against Carl Albert, Connors and Redlands, Costa averaged 20 points per game, 2 assists per game and connected on 14 of 39 three-point shots in helping the Mavs to a 2-1 record,” Jackson said.
“Costa continues to be a top 3-point threat in the region and he is capable of big games at any point.I’m even more proud of who he is as a person, and he is a great ambassador for Northern Oklahoma College.”
Anderson is a 6’2” sophomore guard from Atlanta, Ga. and a graduate of South Atlanta High School. This is his second nomination as Player of the Week for the season.
The next home game is Feb. 1 against NOC Enid in Foster-Piper Fieldhouse. Women play at 5:30 p.m. and men play at 7:30 p.m.
