NOC names Players of the Week
Northern Oklahoma College Tonkawa basketball players for the week ending Jan. 24 are Lady Mav Laramie Edens, nominated by Greg Krause, head women’s basketball coach, and Reggie Scurry, nominated by Donnie Jackson, head men’s basketball coach.
Edens earned her second nomination for the season as the NOC women’s basketball Player of the Week.
“For the previous week, Laramie averaged 14.5 point per game, 3.5 rebounds per game and shot 50 percent from the field,” Krause said.
“Laramie competed hard this week. She continues to improve and gets stronger every day.”
Edens, a 6’0’ freshman from Ada and a graduate of Latta High School, is an honor student at NOC.
“Reggie averaged 8.5 points per game, 7 rebounds and 3 blocks in two games last week and helped us to a 1-1 mark on the week and a big road win at NEO,” Jackson said.
“Reggie scored 10 points in the first half at NEO and was a big key to keeping us alive in the game when we weren't playing well. Once Reggie figures out the consistency needed to be good on the road, he will have a chance to be a very special player at Northern Oklahoma College.”
Scurry is a 6’7” freshman from Atlanta, Ga. He graduated from North Clayton High School.
