Clemons, Rodriguez named NOC Tonkawa Players of the Week

Clemons, nominated by head softball coach Kadie Berlin, went 2 for 2 in the Lady Mavs’ first game against Friends University of Wichita, Kan., and 4 for 5 in the second game, picking up her first win in the circle.
For the season, she is hitting .456, has 2 home runs, 22 RBI’s, 15 runs and 1 stolen base.
“Resha brings a lot of power to the plate,” Berlin said. “She hits the ball very well. She is a multi-dimensional player; typically plays first base, but pitches when needed.”
Clemons is a sophomore from Palm Springs, Calif.
According to Shawn Neale, assistant baseball coach, Rodriguez got 5 hits in 9 plate appearances for the week. He hit 3 singles, 1 double and 1 home run. He had 4 RBI’s, 2 walks and 1 stolen base.
Rodrigues is a freshman infielder/right hand pitcher from Pembroke Pines, Fla., and a graduate of Miramar High School.
