The beautiful game lived up to its name in a classic match up between Blue River College and Northern. The Mavericks came out on top in overtime 4-3. The game was bookended by Cesar Zepeda goals and Rickardo Oldham assists. Cesar's first goal came in the seventh minute when he finished a Rickardo Oldham corner kick. Blue River controlled most of the play, but neither team could score the rest of the half. It didn't take Blue River long to tie the game in the second half scoring just one minute into the second stanza. Northern would take the lead again in the sixty-fourth minute when Brian Pinnock tapped in Patrick Bell's long throw. Six minutes later Blue River tied the game again. Andy Ochoa would put the Mavs back ahead 3-2 in the seventieth minute. Theo Ostas was credited with the assist. The lead didn't last long as Blue River would score to tie the game at three just a minute later. Regulation time ended with the score tied at three forcing overtime. Just two minutes into overtime Rickardo Oldham played a great ball into Cesar Zepeda, who drilled a shot past the Blue River goalkeeper to end the game.
