PTK will sponsor Operation Christmas Child this year and you can help
Tracy Emmons, Northern Oklahoma College mathematics instructor, announced that Phi Theta Kappa is sponsoring Operation Christmas Child this year. She said, “We would like to invite the NOC community members to participate individually or as a club.”
Operation Christmas Child collects shoe boxes that have been filled with toys, toothpaste and toothbrushes, candy, games, clothes, hair brushes, etc. for either a boy or a girl fitting a certain age. The boxes are wrapped in Christmas paper and then sent to needy children around the world. You can include a letter and a picture of yourself in the box if you like and you can even track your box by printing a label off the website listed below.
“We will be having a box wrapping and filling party November fifth at 2 p.m. in Central Hall room 206. If you would like to come, please bring a finger food and some wrapping paper for your group or club. We will have some extra paper and boxes if you can’t find one. In addition, each box needs to have $7 included for shipping, preferably a check made out to Samaritan’s Purse. You can fill a box all by yourself or join with others and do a box together. It should be lots of fun,” Emmons said
If you can’t make the party, feel free to drop off your wrapped box and $7 check, payable to Samaritan’s Purse, to Emmons or Robin Ruyle.
