3.13.2020 – Letter to Residents

CoronavirusDear Resident,

As announced March 12, NOC has decided to suspend face-to-face instruction beginning Monday, March 23 through Friday, April 3. All instruction will be online.

There are no known cases of COVID-19 on campus, but the college is taking this important step to prevent the spread of this virus. Your health and safety is our number one priority.

During this time,
all Student Housing in Tonkawa and Enid will remain open and there will be dining services available. However, if you are returning home or traveling for spring break and choose to remain away from campus until after April 3, that is fine. If you are planning to remain on campus or return to campus at any time during the next three weeks, please contact us.

  • Please remember to take these measures to remain healthy: wash your hands with soap and water often, use hand sanitizer when possible, cover your mouth when you sneeze or cough, and if you are not feeling well or running a fever, immediately contact medical personnel, and stay home and limit exposure to others.
  • This is a fluid situation.  Please check your email, blackboard, and the NOC website regularly for updates as they become available.
  • In accordance with CDC guidance, the College is reviewing options to ensure social distancing occurs.  Social distancing is a term applied to certain actions taken by Public Health officials to stop or slow down the spread of disease.  Examples include limiting gatherings of large groups of people, changing business processes to allow for less face-to-face interaction and measures that minimize physical contact such as refraining from shaking hands.
  • Please encourage No-Contact Greetings.  Simply announce you are not shaking hands at this time.  Anyone watching the current news cycle will likely understand and be appreciative of your approach.  In the same vein, please ensure that living space cleanings take place more frequently.

Thank you for your cooperation. We will continue to keep you updated as more information becomes available. Enjoy spring break, travel safe, and take care of yourself.
