Glasgow Interns for Cornett Campaign

Nicholas Glasgow spent his summer and early fall working on Mick Cornett’s gubernatorial campaign.

Glasgow is a Northern Oklahoma College sophomore majoring in Social Sciences. The majority of his time was spent making phone calls to voters, knocking on doors to hand out campaign literature, and delivering yard signs around the state.

“The internship helped me because I was able to see how and why people think the way they do in dealing with politics. I can listen to a citizen get mad over many issues and they can explain to me why they are mad,” said Glasgow. He believes this experience will benefit his current coursework in Government, Psychology, and Social Problems.

Glasgow added, “The thing I liked most about the internship was all of the people I met. It was welcoming to meet likeminded people who had the same interests I have. It was really fun getting to know so many new people on the campaign.”

Matt Blubaugh was the Executive Campaign Field Manager for Mick2018. Glasgow said Blubaugh was the definition of a hardworking person. “Every time I worked with him, he was always working his hardest to get the job done. He is the kind of guy that I hope my future boss will be like. If I was asked to work for him again, I would do it,” expressed Glasgow.

Glasgow, who will be graduating from NOC in a May 2019, plans to continue his coursework and obtain a Bachelor’s in History and go on to complete a Master’s degree.

Glasgow is a 2017 Tonkawa High School graduate.

This was the first campaign that Glasgow took part in, and even though his candidate lost, he is still proud to have been a part of the campaign. Glasgow said, “It is an experience that I will never forget.”
