NOC art, digital media students tour Ft. Worth museums

Led by Art Faculty Audrey Schmitz, NOC Art and Digital Media students toured three museums on an overnight trip to Fort Worth, TX, May 23-24.

The tour included Amon Carter Museum, Modern Art Museum and Kimball Museum of Art. Other destinations included Fort Worth Botanic Gardens, Fort Worth Water Gardens and St. Patrick’s Cathedral.

Joining the trip were Brad Matson, Director of DMI and Jason McNaughton, Adjunct Instructor of Art.  Highlights of the tour included the Amtrak train travel experience roundtrip from OKC to Fort Worth along with favorite works of art such as Jenny Holzer’s Kind of Blue, 2012, Martin Puryear’s Ladder for Booker T. Washington, 1996; and Jean Shin’s The Museum Body 2024.

Participating students included Macie Brophy, Ponca City; Ariel Calvert, Hominy; Delaney Fox, Tonkawa; Danikka Hardy, Ponca City; Shelby Harland, Yukon; Anna Jones, Medford; Myra Mehojah, Ponca City; and Leslee Richardson, Perry.

Funding for the Fort Worth Museum Experience trip was supported by a NOC Foundation Masonic Grant and a Presidential Partners Grant.

Northern Oklahoma College, the state’s first public two-year community college, is a multi-campus, land-grant institution that provides high quality, accessible, and affordable educational opportunities and services.
