In 1964, Fine Arts Division Chair Bill Heilmann aimed to form a troupe of entertainers that would travel the state and represent the college by entertaining the masses. Since that day, the “World-Travelling Roustabouts” have been earning scholarship through spanning the region (and occasionally, the globe), performing their captivating pop revues. They have traveled to destinations as far as Russia, Romania, Great Britain, Tennessee, Washington DC, and have performed on Carnival and Royal Caribbean cruise lines. Backed by the second-to-none Roustabout Band and illuminated by a devoted team of technicians and designers, the Roustabouts have remained a staple of Northern Oklahoma College for the past 60 years.
