The following organizations have offered internships to our students: YMCA of Ponca City, Perry Carnegie Library, Foster Corner Drug (Perry,OK), Baskins/Stevens/Freeland PC, Robert Sherer CPA, Chilis (Ponca City,OK), Pawnee Nation College, James R. Rodgers, Attorney at Law, Farmers Insurance, Insurance and Financial Services, Mitchco Fabrication, Northern Oklahoma College Financial Aid Office, Peachtree City United Methodist Church (Peachtree City, Georgia) and Alpha 2.
This small, five-year-old group (http://www.proinspire.org/) is giving business whiz kids (some from top-drawer companies like J.P. Morgan and Deloitte) yearlong, paid fellowships with nonprofits that let them put their marketing, operations, and finance skills to work right away. Of 2013’s graduating class of fellows, more than 95 percent are working in social services.
