Raydon Leaton Named Vice President for NOC Enid

Raydon Leaton, currently serving as Head Jets Baseball Coach and business instructor at NOC Enid, has been named vice president for NOC Enid replacing Dr. Ed Vineyard. He will assume his new duties beginning August 8.

Leaton will be located in the Everest Administration building on the Enid campus and will report directly to the president. As vice president, he will serve as a member of the NOC Executive Council and provide vision, leadership and strategic direction for NOC operations in Enid.

He will work collaboratively with others and provide leadership in the planning, organizing, and follow through of the Enid Campus’s educational offerings for NOC, a multi-campus institution. Additionally, he will instruct six credit hours during each fiscal year. Leaton will also represent the institution to a variety of constituencies and promote the overall mission of the college; and will be responsible for ensuring the success of NOC Enid location.

Raydon cares about students and their success and I’m certain that he will bring his strong work ethic to this new role resulting in great outcomes for the campus and the community.”

He was hired by Northern Oklahoma College in 2000 to start the NOC Jets baseball program in Enid as well as teach in the Business division. In 2001, he became the college’s first Athletic Director for NOC Enid. Leaton served in this administrative role providing leadership with student athletes, coaches, budgets, fundraising and eligibility until 2014. During his tenure as Athletic Director, Raydon oversaw the inaugural seasons of men’s and women’s basketball, women’s volleyball, baseball, and softball.

Leaton has been the head Jets baseball coach for nineteen years. His teams have been to the

National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Division II World Series four times in his career, including three of the last six years. The Jets finished 8th place in 2014 and 3rd place in 2002 and 2018. The 2019 team reached the ultimate pinnacle of athletics by winning the World Series claiming their first National Championship with record-breaking attendance at the David Allen Memorial Ballpark in Enid.

Leaton has had 13 NJCAA All Americans, 73 Academic All Americans, and 678 wins in his 19 years. His teams have had over a 3.0 GPA in all 19 years. He has won five Region II Coach of the Year awards and four Plains District Coach of the Year awards.

Originally, from Tulsa, Oklahoma, Leaton received his Associates of Science degree in Business from Connors State College, his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Education from Oklahoma State University. He completed his Master of General Education degree in Computer Business Applications from the University of Central Oklahoma.

When he is not on the baseball field, He enjoys traveling with his wife Stacie, who is the Coordinator of Testing for NOC Enid. He also enjoys volunteering at the Enid Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (Enid SPCA).
