 Northern Oklahoma College Enid is hosting a Ribbon Cutting Tuesday, Aug. 1 at 6:30 p.m. to celebrate the newly remodeled Mackie Planetarium.

The program begins at 6:30 p.m. with remarks at 6:45 p.m.  A planetarium show follows at 7 p.m.

The Bert and Janice Mackie Planetarium is on the NOC Enid Campus at located at Michael Hedges Blvd in Enid.

The Ribbon Cutting is sponsored by the Greater Enid Chamber of Commerce.

The NOC Enid Mackie Planetarium Building is located at Michael Hedges Blvd, Enid, OK  73701.

The newly remodeled building also has new equipment for NOC Enid’s Astronomy Program.

Upgrades to the Mackie Planetarium were made possible by Bert and Janice Mackie and the Presidential Partners Program, both through the NOC Foundation, and the NASA MAIANSE connecting Indigenous Culture and Science Through Co-design of STEM Ecosystems Grant – Exploring the Sun and the night sky.

The regularly scheduled monthly planetarium show is set of Thursday, Aug. 3, at 7 p.m.  Admission is free though non-perishable donations of food are accepted.

Northern Oklahoma College, the state’s first public two-year community college, is a multi-campus, land-grant institution that provides high quality, accessible, and affordable educational opportunities and services.
