NOC’s Digital Media Program empowers tomorrow’s creative professionals

DMI

Northern Oklahoma College’s Digital Media Institute (DMI) is now accepting applications for the 2025-2026 academic year, offering students an affordable education pathway in content creation.

“DMI at NOC is the greatest secret in the Midwest,” said Brad Matson, program director. “We provide a comprehensive curriculum that enhances students’ skills in digital design, media production, and animation within a real-world production environment for a fraction of the cost of other institutions.”

The Digital Media Institute offers a two-year Associate of Applied Science degree in Digital Media, Animation and Design (DMAD). Graduates enter the workforce immediately or transfer to specialized four-year institutions with a solid foundation in their chosen field.

Career opportunities span multiple industries including video game asset creation, motion design, visual effects, digital film production, animation, advertising and marketing content, and corporate branding and social media campaigns.

“DMI sits at the forefront of educational experiences,” Matson explained. “This program serves as an excellent stepping stone to entry-level employment or can help students earn performance scholarships for advanced, specialized degrees.”

Students learn to transform ideas and creative concepts into artistic, professional projects while developing the organizational skills and industry processes essential for success. The curriculum allows students to explore various digital media fields to identify their strengths and discover their passions.

Located on NOC’s main campus in Tonkawa, the Digital Media Institute equips students with cutting-edge tools and industry-standard training. Several graduates start their careers after completion, while others build upon their DMI experience to further ones education.

“The Digital Media Institute empowers students with comprehensive training, industry-standard equipment, and unlimited potential for success. ” Matson added.

Applications are now being accepted for the 2025-2026 academic year. Prospective students and families are encouraged to discover this unique program that delivers professional-level education at an accessible price point.
