Oklahoma Partnership of Industry and Education

Good Wages and a Fast Path

Too many college graduates discover having a degree does not guarantee they will get a job. Add to this the rising tuition costs they may face in earning that degree. Technicians enjoy a challenging high-tech career working in an environment where operations and co-worker safety depend on precision, quick thinking and problem-solving abilities. Technicians monitor and control mechanical, physical and/or chemical changes throughout many processes to produce a final product made from raw material. Industry partners value continued education and development of their employees to help them achieve self-directed goals. The OPIE partnership of industries and educational institutions allows additional options for enhancement of job performance and career opportunities. It also provides a method for current employees to receive college credit for technical training and technical specialty courses. Through these targeted college degrees, current and prospective employees can prepare themselves for positions within the industrial environment.
